What I have learned

Personally I have learned so much from this project about global warming. First of all I’ve gained a lot of information about this series danger that is threatening our planet. The second thing is I have learned simple techniques and individual actions to be done which will help to reduce the effects of global warming. Finely, with the information that I’ve gained from this project I can now aware people about global warming so the whole world could act together to stop this catastrophe.

Individual actions to be taken

1-Replace your regular bulbs at your house with a compact fluorescent bulbs

2-Recycle aluminum cans, glass bottles, plastic, paper, cardboard and newspapers. This will reduce the energy needed to make new products

3-Reduce your water heater to 40-60 C , or call a service person to adjust it.

4-Regularly check your car tire pressure, poorly inflated tires waste gas.

5-Use public transportation such as buses and trains. this will reduce the amount of cars been used and reduce the percentage of CO2 emissions.

UAE & Global Warming

A scientist from Australia has found a theory to solve the issue of global warming and UAE will be the base for his project

By adding urea granules, a solid form of nitrogen, to parts of the ocean that have a nutrient deficit, phytoplankton will bloom and act like trees. The Minister of Environment and Water, Mohammad Saeed Al Kindi, appreciates the idea and said he would be willing to meet the scientist on his next visit to Dubai.

Effects of global warming

1- Increase in earth’s temperature which will cause and droughts

2- ice melting in poles which will cause Increase in sea level and lead to floods

3- Extinction of some of the species caused by deforestation

Deforestation

It’s the conversion of forested areas to non-forest land by cutting down trees done by humans or naturally caused by fires. Forests are important for quite a few reasons, for example, tropical forests compose only 7% of the earth's land surface, but are home to more than half of the species on earth. Another point is forests perform important ecological functions. It works as a Lung for this planet by taking out CO2 and increase oxygen production to prevent global warming.

Global warming

what is Global Warming ?!

Global warming is “the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent”.

This temperature increase is caused by a natural process called the greenhouse effect. A blanket of thermal, or greenhouse, gases composed largely of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and other gases are blocking the sun light or Infrared radiation reflects off earth’s surface toward space and cause it to reflect downward, which helps to rapidly increase in earths temperature and cause some Climatic changes.

Scientist believes that within the last 50 years , earths temperature has increased by 38 F and The atmospheric concentrations of CO2 and CH4 have increased by 31% and 149% respectively above pre-industrial levels since 1750.

Global warming causes

A-Natural causes

such as the release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetlands considering that Methane is a greenhouse gas, and a greenhouse gas will trap heat in the earth's atmosphere.Another natural cause is that the earth is going through a cycle of climate change. This climate change usually lasts about 40,000 years.

B-Man-Made causes

1-Gas emissions and pollution

Burning fossil fuels is one example that causes global warming . Fossil fuels are fuels made of organic matter such as coal, or oil. When fossil fuels are burned they give off a green house gas called CO2.

2-Over population

More people means more food, and more methods of transportation. This means burning of fossil fuels, and more agriculture. . Because more food is needed we have to raise more animals. Another problem with the increasing population is transportation. More people means more cars, and more cars means more pollution.
